Peter Singabele, a former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has been appointed as chairman of a five-member interim management Committee of Bayelsa United, Completesports.com reports.
Singabele’s appointment was confirmed on Thursday morning by the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Dr Peter Akpe.
The committee which replaced Tarilaye Amankwe’s dissolved board will oversee the affairs of Bayelsa United FC for a period of six months.
Ken Akpolaemi Odogu, will serve as Secretary, while Sir. Braveman Wodi, Godson Ekadi and Mr. Ono K. Akpe are other members of the committee.

The Deputy Governor who said that the Governor, Senator Douye Diri, is concerned about the fortunes of Bayelsa United FC, stated that the number one assignment before the interim committee would be to bring the state-owned football team back to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, within one season.
“The government and people of Bayelsa State hold Bayelsa United in high esteem and would want this committee to immediately swing into action and ensure that the club returned to the (Nigeria) Premier League”, the Deputy Governor charged.
Bayelsa United won the NPFL title in 2009 , and represented the country in the 2010 CAF Champions League.
The Yenagoa club were relegated to the Nigeria National League, NNL, at the conclusion of the 2025/2026 NPFL season.
