.Nigeria MiniFootball Association (NMFA) has set plans in motion to ensure it presents a formidable team that will make the country proud at the upcoming continental championship scheduled to take place this August in Cameroon.

Sports247 reports that this was revealed by the president of NMFA, Umar Yusuf Datti, who affirmed that steps have been put in place to ensure they put up a strong representation at the Africa MiniFootball Confederation Women’s Nations Cup.
Aside the women’s continental championship billed to be hosted by Cameroon in August, Datti further disclosed that efforts will also be put into motion towards the men’s Africa MiniFootball Nations Cup that will take place in Guinea next year.
Datti pointed out that the association will need players from the domestic terrain to feature during both competitions, hence their renewed focus on the Lagos State MiniFootball League as a virile platform for selections into the two squads.
He emphasised the Lagos MiniFootball League as a veritable ground for sourcing talents for the national teams, hence the keen eye with which officials of NMFA will follow the matches when action begins in the championship on July 31.
The NMFA boss added, “We have the Lagos State MiniFootball Association chairman who is also the chairman of Agege Local Government Area, Honourable Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa.
“He is putting up the Lagos MiniFootball League which will be part of our preparations for the AMC women’s AFCON in Cameroon, where the African MiniFootball Confederation Women’s Nations Cup is holding this August.
“We also have the men’s Nations Cup next year June in Guinea (but) the female AFCON is coming soon. Our challenges now is to see how to get quality players. We also need the girls to know is the rules and regulations of MiniFootball.”
