The chairman and chief executive officer of De Lad Boxing Promotions, Alhaji Waheed Alabi has declared that his outfit remains committed to providing opportunities for young talents to make their marks in the roped square.
Sports247 reports that Alhaji Alabi made the pledged while speaking about the excitement he had from watching last weekend’s awards ceremony organized by ‘Fight Gist Media,’ which he described as an outstanding event.

Alabi went on to hail the Fight Gist Media Boxing Awards as a very positive initiative and laudable platform that continues to inspire excellence within the Nigerian pugilists’ community, while also encouraging young ones to aim high.
Alabi gave the commendation in the afternsth of the awards ceremony that took place inside the gymnasium hall of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) in Surulere, Lagos.
He also described the founder of Fight Gist Media, Akinlade Abiodun as a versatile young man whose dedication, vision and commitment to the progress of boxing in Nigeria make him worthy of emulation by other entrepreneurs.
While applauding Abiodun for building an initiative that has grown into a force to be reckoned with in the boxing sector, Alabi used the moment to pledge the continued commitment of De Lad to further development of Nigerian pugilism.
Alabi stressed that his outfit will continue to discover, motivate, support and nurture young boxing talents in both the amateur and professional ranks, as he affirmed: “We are not going to relent in our efforts to support young Nigerians.
“(We will support them) in reaching the pinnacle of their boxing careers. We remain committed to providing opportunities and the necessary platform for talented boxers to excel at both amateur and professional levels.”
