Last weekend’s victory by Nigerian professional wrestler, Isaac Odugbesan (Oba Femi) over Jey Uso during the final of ‘King Of The Ring’ has been described as a redemption move by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Sports247 reports.

This verdict came from renowned combat sport analyst, Robert Jackman, who noted in his latest article that he personally felt WWE were up to a conspiracy theory that would see Oba Femi lose against Uso because of marketing reasons.
Jackman, who is also a contributing writer for Yahoo Sports and ‘Uncrowned,’ reckoned that WWE initially appeared to be building lots of hype towards an upset against Oba Femi, in much the same way they did with his loss to Brock Lesnar.
The erudite writer noted Uso’s membership of the famed ‘Bloodline’ wrestling family, which he admitted outweighs Oba Femi’s emergent status, in much the same way Lesnar was rated a long-standing maverick star who should not bow to a rookie.
With WWE having successfully set up a third bout between ‘The Ruler’ and Lesnar at the next edition of SummerSlam, Jackman admitted he felt the wrestling body was also aligning Uso for a similar series with Oba Femi on another popular platform.
However, with Oba Femi having defeated Uso in just seven minutes, 56 seconds and his shoulder breaker ranked as one of the night’s best moves, Jackman heaved a sigh of relief that all apprehension about a conspiracy result did not materialise after all.
Jackman wrote in part, “As someone who has been critical of WWE’s booking of Oba Femi since WrestleMania, they may have just redeemed themselves. Some of us genuinely thought Jey Uso was going to beat Oba Femi at Night of Champions.
“How foolish we all feel now – those of us who thought having ‘The Ruler’ in the King of the Ring final was just a ploy to set up some kind of Brock Lesnar interference (but) WWE did plant a few seeds to suggest that might be the case.
“Over on Raw, we had the all-powerful Roman Reigns making it clear that he wanted to see his cousin challenging Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. That seemed like a good sign that WWE might indeed crown King Jey in Riyadh.
“(Giving him victory would be a way of) setting up a Bloodline-tastic angle at SummerSlam. Though it turned out it was just a red herring, they managed to let Uso get some serious offense, while still maintaining Femi’s indestructible vibe.
“To cap it off, they opted for exactly the right finish: Femi managing to put his opponent down for the three-count after the first hit of his finisher. In storyline or otherwise, Uso should have no reason to feel ashamed of that performance.”
Sports247 gathered further that, aside his third fight with Lesnar, Oba Femi has also been tipped for a showdown with Roman Reigns and then a chance to take on Cody Rhodes, as his ascent is continuing towards a main event at SummerSlam.
