Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has revealed that Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche has continued to receive support from the club despite his difficult season and limited playing time.

Speaking about the midfielder’s struggles, Glasner admitted that Uche was deeply affected after being left out of Palace’s squad for the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
“He was heartbroken,” Glasner said.
According to the Palace manager, the disappointment may have contributed to the player believing he was no longer trusted by the coaching staff.
“He probably thought I didn’t like him,” he implied.
Glasner, however, insisted the decision was purely football-related and not personal.
“It was a football decision,” he noted.
The Austrian coach explained that squad selection often involves difficult choices, particularly when balancing injuries, tactics, and competition for places.
“You can’t register everyone,” he added.
For Glasner, helping players manage disappointment is also part of modern coaching.
“He needs support,” he stressed.
The Palace boss revealed that club officials have continued working with the midfielder to ensure he remains mentally strong and focused.
“We are trying to help him,” he said.
Uche’s campaign has been frustrating since arriving on loan from Getafe CF, but Palace still believe the player can recover positively from the setback.
For Glasner, the message is clear.
The situation is not personal.
Support remains available.
And the player must stay open and focused.
