Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has taken another step aimed at ensuring football coaches in the country gain enough knowledge and expertise that would make them competent enough in dishing out modern technical methodologies.
Sports247 reports that this revelation was provided by the NFF’s head of coaching education, Dr. Terry Eguaoje, while throwing more light on details of the football body’s upcoming CAF B-License refresher course in Abuja.

Eguaoje also revealed ahead of the course’s commencement on Sunday at NFF/FIFA Goal Project in Abuja that the six-day training programme, which is sanctioned by Confederation of African Football (CAF), will be handled by Nigerian instructors.
He added that the training programme became necessary because several coaches with the B-License require upgrading and must go through a duly recognised retraining process before they can move to the A-License level.
The training guru further disclosed that the course is divided into two batches due to a high number of applicants, with 25 coaches set for the first batch from this Sunday to Tuesday and another 25 stepping in from Tuesday up till Thursday at the same venue.
“We are making tremendous progress in making sure that our coaches are current in the latest coaching methodologies and certified in line with CAF coaching requirements. Upon completion, coaches will have their CAF-B diplomas renewed.
“(They will also) be eligible to apply for the upcoming A-License course starting in August 2026,” said Eguaoje, who will handle the training sessions with support from Nigeria’s array of indigenous FIFA and CAF-certified coach educators.
