Former Super Eagles’ striker, Victor Nosa Ikpeba has disclosed that he had a strong ‘sense of fulfilment’ from watching young players put up determined and committed performances during the final of his 5-A-Side football competition, Sports247 reports.

The 1997 African Footballer of The Year stated this while reflecting on the run of play during the final of this year’s Victor Ikpeba Football Challenge, which ended with Big John FC emerging champions of the Lagos edition.
Big John took home the prestigious trophy after defeating LB United 2-0 at Fujah Street Community Ground in Obele Odan area of Surulere, where their hugely dazzling star, Afeez Salami emerged as the most valuable player.
Salami’s teammate, John Ozemohya finished as highest scorer with three goals, while Big John received the winners’ cash prize of N500,000 and a trophy, with LB United going home with the runners-up reward of N250,000.
Odogwu FC received N150,000 for emerging third and Gantos got N100,000 as fourth placed in the annual competition, which Ikpeba said turned out to be an even greater season of fulfillment for him.
Ikpeba declared, “It gives me joy and a sense of fulfilment when I see people throw in their hearts to do well in competitions like this.
Some of us started from this level and, with the help of God, made it to the European leagues and the World Cup.”
Sports247 reports further that ‘The Prince of Monaco’ promised his continued support for the prestigious competition, which he also hosts annually at his ancestral roots in Delta State.
