FC Porto of Portugal striker, Terem Moffi has confessed that he and his teammates in the Nigerian national team will find next week’s international friendly against Portugal difficult, but quickly added that they will give their best effort.

Sports247 reports that the hitman on loan from OGC Nice of France is still beaming with delight over the goal he scored against Poland in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw during a similar friendly in Warsaw, which he described as a good result and enthused that the team can replicate it.
He also stated personal delight with his ability to get on the scorers’ card during the midweek cracker, which came just four days after he did the same while captainong a second-string Eagles’ squad to victory over Jamaica during the Unity Cup final in London.
Having also scored in the Eagles’ 3-0 victory on Saturday at Charlton Athletic FC’s stadium, The Valley, Moffi admitted that he feels on top of the world, but admitted that the Nigerian squad must not get carried away with Wednesday’s draw in Warsaw.
Instead of over celebrating the outcome of their match against Robert Lewandowski’s side, Moffi acknowledged that the Eagles need to reassess their performance in the encounter and spot where they went wrong, especially as they twice gave up the lead.
The 27-year-old striker, whose full name is Teremas Igobor Moffi conceded that the Eagles must take lessons learnt from their draw with Poland at PGE Narodowy Stadium in order to do better against Portugal next week Wednesday in Lisbon.
“I am proud and happy for myself and the team as well. We played really well but, unfortunately, we couldn’t secure the victory; yet there were a lot of positives to take home. I think it was a top performance from the boys.
“A lot of positives to take home and we’re proud of ourselves. It was a difficult game because they are a top side. We had to stay low, to absorb the pressure and try a lot of counters or possessions.
“I try to score as many goals as possible. Against Portugal, it is going to be difficult, but I will try to do my job as well,” said Moffi, who got his debut against Cameroon in 2021 and now has six goals in 22 appearances for Nigeria.
