President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has confirmed that the Nigeria women’s national football team will face Senegal in a two-legged friendly series ahead of the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking on preparations for the continental tournament, Gusau explained that the friendly matches are part of efforts to properly prepare the Super Falcons for the competition.

“We have arranged two friendly matches against Senegal,” Gusau said.
According to the NFF president, organizing international friendlies for the women’s national team has remained difficult due to limited support and logistical challenges.
“It has not been easy arranging games for the team,” he implied.
Gusau admitted that those difficulties contributed to the Super Falcons’ inactivity during recent international windows.
“That is one of the reasons the team has not been very active recently,” he noted.
Despite the challenges, the football administrator assured Nigerians that the federation remains committed to giving the 10-time African champions proper support ahead of the tournament.
“The Super Falcons will receive the preparation they deserve,” he added.
Gusau also revealed that a two-week pre-tournament training camp has already been mapped out for the team.
“We have plans for a proper camping programme with more friendly matches,” he stressed.
The Super Falcons continue preparing to reclaim continental dominance as expectations grow ahead of WAFCON.
“Nigeria will always be among the favourites in Africa,” many football observers believe.
The federation hopes the planned preparations and friendlies will help the team regain rhythm and sharpness before the tournament begins.
