Fast-rising Nigerian tennis youngster, Seun Ogunsakin is flaunting a 68% success rate card in his desire to create history with a spot in the main draw of this year’s French Open junior competition, Sports247 reports.

The budding tennis ace from Ekiti State is highly rated to get a special merit card into the main draw ahead of the serve-off this Sunday, and Ogunsakin is banking on his clay court performances to create upsets.
All Nigerian eyes will now be on Roland Garros, with great expectations and high-level hope towards a spirited surge for 17-year-old Ogunsakin, who recently won the ITF J200 Africa Regional Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
During that competition, Ogunsakin defeated Botswana’s Ntugamili Raguin in the final to secure one of the biggest titles of his young career and he is currently competing in Belgium, with a desire to consolidate with an improvement to his current haul of 13 victories on clay.
Having lost just six of his previous games on red surface, Ogunsakin holds a better winning ratio at par with defeats, hence his ambition of making it all the way to the French Open junior final on June 6th in Paris.
Sports247 gathered further that Ogunsakin gained an improved ranking as a result of his consistent participation in International Tennis Federation (ITF) Grand Slam Player Development Programmes and he is now ranked 66th on the entry list.
The top-ranked Nigerian junior player had earlier been listed among a specially selected pool of 24 players drawn into the qualifying round of this year’s junior competition at the French Open, after 46 automatic qualifiers for the main draw.
