Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has congratulated Arsenal for winning the 2025-2026 Premier League title.
Arsenal were confirmed league champions after City could only draw 1-1 away to Bournemouth at the Vitality on Tuesday night.
The newly crowned FA Cup winners needed to secure the three points against the Cherries to take the title race with Arsenal to the final day of the campaign.
Guardiola has now failed to win a league title in back-to-back seasons for the first time in his coaching career.
Reacting after his side’s draw with Bournemouth Guardiola, quoted on Mirror, said “Congratulations to Mikel, congratulations to Arsenal, they have been phenomenal.
“We were close. On behalf of everyone at Manchester City, we congratulate Mikel and all the staff, players and fans on winning the Premier League. They deserve it.”
On reports that he would leave City at the end of the season, Guardiola added: “I have one more year of my contract. I will talk to the chairman at the end of the season.
“I will not tell you here – I have to talk to my chairman, my players and my staff.I’m the happiest man in the world to be at this extraordinary club.
“I am the happiest man on the planet to be in this club. This club is extraordinary. “When we finish the season, we will talk and take a decision.”
