Former Super Eagles striker Odion Jude Ighalo has marked the 21st anniversary of his Widows Foundation, reaffirming his long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable women across Nigeria.
The ex-Super Eagles forward celebrated the milestone by spending time with beneficiaries, many of whom have been part of the initiative for years.

Reflecting on the journey, Ighalo expressed gratitude for the impact the foundation has made over two decades.
“I had a wonderful time with my widows’ foundation yesterday. I can’t believe it has been 21 years since I started taking care of them,” Ighalo said.
“While some have passed away and new ones have joined, it is always a pleasure to see them happy, healthy, looking good, and praising God.”
The former Manchester United striker emphasized the spiritual bond he shares with the widows, highlighting the importance of their prayers in his life.
“I don’t take their prayers for granted, because God is their husband. I can’t do without their prayers,” he added.
Ighalo’s Widows Foundation, which predates his widely known orphanage project in Lagos, has consistently provided financial assistance, empowerment opportunities, and emotional support to hundreds of widows, particularly in underserved communities.
Beyond the foundation, Ighalo also funds the Ighalo Orphanage Home, further demonstrating his dedication to humanitarian causes off the pitch.
