Flying Eagles head coach Abdu Maikaba has expressed his delight at being given the opportunity to lead the team.
Maikaba was appointed as the new head coach of the seven-time African champions two weeks ago.
The experienced tactician will guide the Flying Eagles at the 2025 WAFU B U-20 Championship scheduled for July.
He previously served as an assistant coach with the Flying Eagles and Nigeria’s U-17 team, the Golden Eaglets.

Maikaba described the appointment as a huge honour and a great opportunity to take charge of one of Nigeria’s most successful youth teams.
“I am deeply honored for this role as Head Coach of the Nigeria U-20 Flying Eagles,” he wrote on X.
“To lead this team is a massive responsibility and a privilege I do not take lightly. Nigeria’s football history is built on passion, grit, and talent.
