Chief Patrick Onwuelingo, a prominent member of Island All Stars, has commended his team’s performance following their emphatic 6-0 win over Lagos State All Stars in a friendly match at the Lagos Business School, Lagos.
Speaking in a post-match interview with Sports247Naija, Onwuelingo described the encounter as a well-executed display of teamwork and discipline.

“It was a fantastic game. The guys played according to instructions. From the first whistle, we knew what we came for and we delivered. Discipline, teamwork — collectively, it all came together,” he said.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, he also praised the opposition for their conduct throughout the match.
“I am proud of the team and also the opponent who stood tall with unity and discipline throughout the game,” he added, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship that defined the encounter.
Onwuelingo further emphasized the broader values behind such matches, noting their role in promoting unity beyond the pitch.
“We pray together to build a great Lagos and a great nation at large with such characteristics,” he stated, underscoring the importance of football as a unifying force.
Looking ahead, he confirmed the team’s readiness for a potential return leg, expressing confidence that arrangements would be made in due course.
“We are ready, once they are ready too. I am sure the SMC will welcome the return leg after checking our schedule,” he noted.
