Liverpool remain admirers of Alex Scott but are yet to decide whether to make a move for the Bournemouth star, according to Daily Mail.
Scott is developing a reputation as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League after sparkling for the Cherries in recent seasons.
The 23-year-old played a significant role in helping Bournemouth qualify for this season’s Europa League by finishing sixth in 2025-26.
His stock has risen further following his breakthrough with England, making his first senior start in the 7-0 win at Croatia earlier this month.
BBC Sport revealed on Tuesday evening that Bournemouth have softened their stance on selling Scott in the January transfer window.
The south-coast club would now be open to selling Scott provided they receive an offer worth more than €117million (£100m) and are in a good position in the league.
Scott, who is pushing to leave Bournemouth after turning down two offers to extend his contract, is wanted by Chelsea and Liverpool, according to BBC Sport.
However, the Mail understands Liverpool are still in the process of establishing transfer targets under new sporting director Julian Ward.
Ward replaced Hughes as sporting director last month
Ward took on the role for a second time in September, having previously held the position in the 2022-23 season. He replaced Richard Hughes as sporting director last month.
Scott worked with Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth and the pair are said to retain a positive relationship.
Regarded as one of the best ball-carrying midfielders in England, Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City for €29.5m (£25m) in August 2023.
He has registered seven goals and as many assists in 95 appearances for the Vitality Stadium club, with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2028.
Chelsea want Scott to replace Fernandez
Chelsea want to sign a new midfielder in future transfer windows after failing to land a replacement for Enzo Fernandez in September.
The Blues missed out on acquiring Lamine Camara of Monaco as Fernandez joined Manchester City for €145m (£125m) on transfer deadline day.
It is unknown whether Chelsea are still interested in Camara, 22, but the Mail understands the Senegal international is liked by Liverpool.
BBC Sport claims Chelsea remain keen to land Scott despite having a €75.7m (£64m) bid rejected by Bournemouth in the summer.
