Team Nigeria concluded the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with 10 gold medals, finishing as Africa’s highest-ranked nation after an impressive campaign across athletics, para powerlifting and weightlifting.
Nigeria’s medal haul also included seven silver and five bronze medals, underlining the country’s strong showing at the Games and its dominance in several strength and para-sport events.
The golden campaign featured historic performances, Commonwealth Games records and world records, with 10 Nigerian athletes standing out as champions in Glasgow.

Samuel Ogazi – Men’s 400m
Ogazi made history by becoming the first Nigerian man to win the Commonwealth Games 400m title.

Ezekiel Nathaniel – Men’s 400m Hurdles
Nathaniel produced a landmark performance in the 400m hurdles, winning gold in 48.47 seconds and becoming the first Nigerian man to win the Commonwealth Games title in the event.
Chukwuebuka Enekwechi – Men’s Shot Put
The Nigerian thrower claimed gold with a best effort of 21.07 metres, adding another athletics title to Team Nigeria’s impressive campaign.

Nwachukwu delivered one of Nigeria’s most remarkable performances, winning gold with a world-record throw of 39.66m.
