Jamie Gittens says Chelsea’s ambition is “to win everything” this season under Xabi Alonso.
Alonso took over at Chelsea in June after the club endured a turbulent 2025-26, with Enzo Maresca leaving in January before his successor, Liam Rosenior, was sacked a little over three months later.
The Blues missed out on European football on the final day of the Premier League season, finishing the campaign in 10th.
But Chelsea have now turned to former Bayer Leverkusen boss Alonso, who won a domestic double without losing a single game with Bayer in the 2023-24 season.
Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are among the favourites to challenge for the title in 2026-27, with Chelsea not expected to be in the mix during Alonso’s first year.
But Gittens says the team have big dreams regarding what they can achieve, following the arrivals of Morgan Rogers, Marco Palestra and Geovany Quenda.

“Everyone is very positive, looking forward to the new season and to be better and to succeed, which is the main thing,” Gittens was quoted on beIN Sports.
“We want to win everything – that is our ambition: to win the Premier League, the FA Cup and anything else that we’re in.
“Bringing in a player like Morgan will hopefully raise the bar to win titles.
“Our quality is there. As a team, we have individuals on the pitch who can do amazing things, but we have to try and put that together.
“Working on ourselves every day, having one game per week is not easy, mentally. You want to keep playing games, but it will be a good season.”
