Spain defender Marc Cucurella got a tattoo of his national team coach Luis de la Fuente after fulfilling a pre-tournament promise.
Before the start of the tournament, Cucurella promised to get a tattoo with a portrait of the coach if the Spanish national team became world champions.

After the victory, he confirmed his intention to keep his word, and de la Fuente jokingly reminded the player of his promise.
“If you make a promise, you have to keep it. Besides, I don’t look that scary,” said de la Fuente after the final.
However, on Tuesday, Cucurella kept his promise, getting an image of De la Fuente holding the World Cup inked on his left arm.
“Promise fulfilled,” Cucurella posted on Instagram, along with short clips of him getting the tattoo.
Cucurella was part of the successful equation that led Spain to its second-ever World Cup title. It had been 16 years since Spain had won the World Cup.

On July 19, the Spanish national team defeated the Argentine national team in the final of the 2026 World Cup at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, near New York.
The match ended with a minimal victory for “La Roja” – 1:0. The only goal of the match was scored by Ferran Torres. The match was also remembered for the rough play of the Argentines.
The authorities of the Spanish municipality of Los Palacios y Villafranca gave Spanish national team midfielders Fabián Ruiz and Gavi, who are from there, 150 kilograms of tomatoes for winning the 2026 World Cup.
