All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Manu Kone, Aurelien Tchouameni and Bruno Fernandes.
Man Utd cause Kone frustration
Man Utd are dragging their feet on a potential deal for AS Roma midfielder Manu Kone, as per Corriere dello Sport.
The Red Devils made contact with the France international’s entourage after the World Cup, but the situation hasn’t developed beyond that. They are still “monitoring” the situation, but things are moving “extremely slowly.”
This is causing frustration at Roma because they are trying to sell Kone before the end of the month. They are operating under a settlement regime with UEFA and have been given until the end of July to meet the terms. It is believed that they still need to make a major sale.
Tchouameni deal back on
The reason for Man Utd’s dithering could be the fact that Real Madrid may yet open the door to a potential deal for Aurelien Tchouameni, the BBC reports.
The Spanish giants have begun strongly pursuing a deal for Man City star Rodri, but it is expected that they need a lucrative sale to fund more incoming business this summer. City do not want to let their superstar midfielder leave for a trifling fee.
As a result, Real Madrid may offer Tchouameni to Man Utd. The France international is considered a dream target by the Red Devils, though a deal was previously deemed unrealistic.
Juve eye Fernandes
Juventus are exploring an “ambitious” move for Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes, CaughtOffside claims.
New Bianconeri director Ricky Massara is keen to sign a high-quality No.10, while manager Luciano Spalletti wants more creativity and leadership. The Serie A giants’ interest is described as “genuine.”
However, there is an acknowledgement that a deal looks difficult at this stage. Man Utd don’t want to lose their captain, and it is also doubtful that Fernandes would give up the chance to play Champions League football with the Red Devils for a club not in Europe’s premier competition.
Stuttgart considering Radek
Stuttgart are mulling over a potential approach for Man Utd goalkeeper Radek Vitek, according to BILD.
The Czech shot-stopper has made no secret of his desire to leave Old Trafford in search of regular first-team minutes this summer, and he has now emerged on Stuttgart’s radar.
The Bundesliga side planned to go into the campaign with their new No.1 Dennis Seimen, but the 20-year-old has suffered an injury, which could now prompt the German club to sign a replacement on short notice. At present, however, they are keen to trust backup Fabian Bredlow.
