Sporting director Andrea Berta has reportedly been allocated a transfer war chest of approximately £250million, while former loanee Piero Hincapie has already become Arsenal’s first permanent acquisition of the summer following the confirmation of his move from Bayer Leverkusen for £34.5m.

Newcastle’s Guimaraes trump card
Bruno Guimaraes, who supplied the decisive assist in Brazil’s Round of 32 triumph over Japan at the World Cup on Tuesday, has become a primary midfield target for the Premier League champions. According to Chronicle Live, an intermediary bid of £45m for the Newcastle United captain has already been turned down.
Meanwhile, reports originating from Brazil suggesting Guimaraes possesses a £60m release clause in his contract were quickly refuted, with sources on Tyneside maintaining no such clause is present. That is not the sole contractual obstacle Arsenal could encounter in their pursuit of the 28 year old’s signature.
The Magpies reportedly also retain the option to prolong Guimaraes’ existing deal by an additional 12 months, reports Shields Gazette. Should it be triggered, the clause would keep the Brazil international committed to St James’ Park until the summer of 2029, further bolstering Newcastle’s bargaining position and rendering any transfer to north London even more complex.
Bouaddi transfer condition
Should Arsenal prove unable to extract Guimaraes from Newcastle, focus could shift towards Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 18 year old Moroccan has elevated his burgeoning reputation with a series of impressive performances in midfield at the World Cup.
He is reportedly drawing interest from numerous European heavyweights, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal. According to the Standard, Lille have placed a £70m valuation on the teenage midfielder this summer.
However, there is a condition attached, with the Ligue 1 outfit only willing to accept that sum if the purchasing club consents to loan Bouaddi straight back for the 2026-27 campaign. Should Arsenal demand his immediate arrival at the Emirates Stadium, then the valuation will increase to approximately £85m.
