According to a video posted on Fox news on Saturday July 15, 2026, retired General Jack Keane laid out for Fox News a wide-ranging strategy aimed at pressuring Iran through strikes on its civilian and economic infrastructure, saying such action could be used to force concessions from the country’s leadership.
Keane explained that beyond targeting missile launchers and storage tunnels, U.S. forces have also focused on power plants, energy sources, airports and ports throughout Iran.ѕєє тнє ν!∂єσ нєяє
He said this approach is designed to compound military pressure with economic pressure, limiting the regime’s ability to function normally.
He added that isolating Iran from neighboring countries it trades with would further intensify this pressure, noting that much of the country’s maritime trade is already restricted.
According to Keane, combining these tactics creates leverage that could not be achieved through military strikes alone.
In his words, General Keane said, “The other thing you mentioned in the introduction is we can put more pressure on the Iranians by going after their national infrastructure, some of that was discussed right here, and that’s power plants, energy sources, it’s airports, it’s ports.
“You want to also isolate Iran completely from the countries that surround it that they’re trading with and getting things out and getting things in because so much is being denied from them at sea.
“So there’s a lot of things that can be done here to bend them to our will” he said.
He said this multi-front pressure campaign reflects a deliberate strategy to weaken Iran’s position on several levels at once.
