Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, could not contain his excitement for his son’s upcoming wedding to pop sensation Taylor Swift.
The happy couple are believed to be tying the knot in just a few weeks’ time with a huge reception being planned at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, which would encompass the reported 1,000 guests they are inviting.
And it appears that Ed could not be happier with his NFL star son’s choice of bride as he gushed over the Opalite singer.
‘I am super excited,’ Ed told Fox 29 Philly about the highly anticipated wedding. ‘She is a sweetheart. That is truly the girl next door.’
However, the 75-year-old did not drop any further clues about the star-studded affair much to the disappointment of Swift’s loyal fanbase.
No doubt, however, famous guests will include Selena Gomez and her new husband Benny Blanco , supermodel Karlie Kloss , Cara Delevingne , Zoe Kravitz , Ed Sheeran , Suki Waterhouse and, one would assume, her significant other Robert Pattinson , and the Haim sisters – Este, Danielle and Alana.

Meanwhile, Kelce’s roster of footballing friends are also expected to make the cut with San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle letting it slip that he and his wife Claire had snagged an invite.
During Tight End University this week, which Kelce co-hosts with Kittle, the Niners player revealed one key detail about the upcoming nuptials.
Kittle revealed that he has been told the A-list couple do not want guests splashing out on lavish gifts.
When asked what he will be buying them, Kittle said: ‘They said absolutely no gifts’.
But then the San Francisco 49ers star added ‘but I was thinking Travis, for some reason, likes old coins so I might get him one of those. Sounds expensive.’ Asked if he wanted to give them a wedding wish, Kittle said: ‘Just have so much fun with all your friends.’
Meanwhile, Ed has sparked romance rumors of his own as he seemingly hard launched a brand new romance on social media just weeks before his son’s wedding.
He sent fans into a frenzy earlier this month after sharing a picture of his supposed love interest, along with a glowing description of her in the caption.
‘With the dynamic and gorgeous Doree Hepner at 118 North, listening to York Street Hustle: their Summer Soul(stice) show,’ Ed captioned the post on his Instagram.

The social media update quickly generated significant traction among fans, with commenters pointing out that the post seemed to serve as a romantic ‘hard launch.’
Following his divorce from Donna Kelce – the mother of Travis and Jason – Ed was in a long-term relationship with Maureen Maguire. The couple kept a relatively low profile despite the family’s rising fame.
Tragedy struck the Kelce family last year when Maguire passed away at the age of 74. Ed shared an online obituary at the time honoring her memory and kindness.
Earlier this month an insider exclusively told the Daily Mail that Travis and Swift will marry at Madison Square Garden (MSG) on Friday, July 3, with the pair deciding to ’embrace the spectacle’ of a giant wedding.
And now the latest buzz is that in addition to that event there will be a more intimate celebration at the arena the day before on Thursday July 2 according to The New York Times .
According to the publication an estimated 100 of their closest friends and family will be attending the first event.
Then the following day, the musician and athlete will be hosting a much larger party of about 1,000 people as the outlet claimed that it can potentially include onstage performances.
Adding fuel to the fire that the high-profile wedding is set to take place in the world’s most famous arena is that permits have been filed to close the streets around the venue from July 2 to midday July 4.
Included in the request by event planners were spaces for tents, canopies, and trucks around the famous arena.
