Nigerian youngster Popoola Ridwan has sealed a move to United Arab Emirates Pro League outfit Al Wasl.
Ridwan joined the UAE giants from Hungarian side Kisvárda on a permanent transfer.
The 19-year-old’s impressive performances for local club Seamoriow FC, earned him a move to Kisvárda in February 2025.
The defensive midfielder’s time in Hungary proved instrumental in his growth, as he adapted quickly to senior football and caught the attention of clubs outside Europe with his composure, work rate and ball-winning ability.
Proud Moment For Grassroot Football
Meanwhile, Ridwan’s former club, Seamoriow FC have celebrated his move to the eight-time UAE champions.

Ridwan To Continue Development At Wasl
Al Wasl are one of UAE’s most decorated football clubs, having won the UAE Pro League title a record-equalling eight times, with their latest triumph coming in the 2023–24 season.
The Dubai-based club also attracted global attention during the 2011 and 2012 seasons when Argentine football legend Diego Maradona served as head coach.
They will be hoping Ridwan’s energy, defensive discipline, and versatility add quality and depth to their midfield as they pursue silverware in the upcoming campaign.
