The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, has congratulated the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mallam Shehu Dikko, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a visionary sports administrator whose leadership has ushered in a new era of reforms and innovation in Nigeria’s sports sector.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeboye lauded Mallam Dikko’s unwavering commitment to repositioning Nigerian sports through strategic policies, institutional reforms, improved athlete welfare, and sustainable sports development.

The SSA noted that since assuming office, the NSC Chairman has demonstrated exceptional leadership by championing initiatives aimed at strengthening sports governance, enhancing the Nigeria Premier Football League, improving players’ welfare, attracting private sector investment, and creating an enabling environment for athletes and sports administrators to thrive.
Hon. Adeboye further commended Mallam Dikko for his passion for grassroots sports development, describing him as a leader who understands that sustainable sporting success begins with investing in communities, schools, and young talents across the country.
“Mallam Shehu Dikko has continued to provide purposeful leadership at the National Sports Commission. His vision, courage, and commitment to reforming Nigerian sports are laying a solid foundation for a sustainable future. His belief in grassroots sports development aligns perfectly with our mandate to discover talents, expand opportunities, and build a stronger sporting ecosystem for Nigeria.”
According to the SSA, the ongoing collaboration between the National Sports Commission and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development reflects the Federal Government’s determination to use sports as a catalyst for youth empowerment, national unity, job creation, and economic growth under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
He expressed confidence that under Mallam Dikko’s leadership, the National Sports Commission would continue to implement policies and programmes that would elevate Nigerian sports to greater heights both nationally and internationally.
