Giwa began his impressive run by defeating Joshua Daniel 3-0 to qualify for the U-19 final before producing one of the biggest upsets of the competition, dispatching senior player Samson Asade 3-0 to reach the men’s final.
Quadri was equally dominant, brushing aside Benjamin Monday 3-0 in the U-19 semifinals before overcoming his elder brother, Ayomide Yusuf, by the same scoreline to complete a memorable double qualification.
The finals will reignite a growing rivalry between two of Nigeria’s brightest squash prospects, with both players chasing titles in the junior and senior categories.
Their latest meeting also revives memories of the 2025 edition of the tournament, when the pair faced off in the U-19 final, with Quadri emerging victorious.
Speaking ahead of the finals, Giwa expressed confidence about facing his familiar rival once again.
“I’m ready for the challenge. Yusuf and I know each other’s game very well, and I’m confident about meeting him in the finals,” Giwa said.
