The 25-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, registering 11 goals and eight assists in 35 appearances to establish himself as one of the Championship’s standout attacking players.

His club form also earned him his first call-up to the Nigerian national team under head coach Eric Chelle, and the winger wasted little time making an impression.

“It’s been an unforgettable season, and my focus is to keep improving and performing at the highest level,” Azeez said.

The winger announced himself on the international stage by scoring twice on his Super Eagles debut against Zimbabwe before playing a key role in Nigeria’s successful Unity Cup campaign.

According to former Millwall player Bryan King, Aston Villa are among the clubs keeping a close eye on Azeez as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

“Playing in the Premier League is every player’s dream, but right now my priority is to keep working hard and let my football do the talking,” he added.

A move to Villa Park would represent another major milestone in Azeez’s career and reward a season in which he has consistently delivered for both club and country.

With the summer transfer window gathering pace, the Super Eagles winger is expected to remain a player of interest as Premier League clubs assess their options for the new campaign.
