Nigeria’s Super Eagles legend Austin Okocha holds the record for the most successful dribbles in a single FIFA World Cup match.
Okocha achieved the feat during Nigeria’s Round of 16 clash against Italy at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, completing an astonishing 15 successful dribbles.
Unfortunately, his outstanding display was not enough to prevent the Super Eagles from suffering a 2-1 defeat, as a 10-man Italy side came from behind to win courtesy of a Roberto Baggio brace.
ROGER MILLA: Oldest Goalscorer At A FIFA World Cup
Cameroon legend Roger Milla remains the oldest player ever to score at the FIFA World Cup.
Aged 42 years and 39 days, Milla found the net against Russia to make it 3-1 during Cameroon’s final Group B match at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States.
Cameroon eventually lost the encounter 6-1, with Oleg Salenko scoring five of Russia’s six goals.
At the age of 38, Milla had inspired the Indomitable Lions to a historic quarter-final appearance at the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy, scoring four goals during the tournament.

ESSAM EL HADARY: Oldest Player At A FIFA World Cup
Egypt’s legendary goalkeeper Essam El Hadary is the oldest player to appear in FIFA World Cup history.
El Hadary set the record at 45 years and 161 days when he started Egypt’s final group match against Saudi Arabia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Egypt lost the game 2-1, their third successive defeat after earlier losses to Uruguay (1-0) and hosts Russia (3-1).
During his illustrious career, El Hadary helped Egypt win four Africa Cup of Nations titles in 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
ASAMOAH GYAN: Fastest Goal By An African At A FIFA World Cup
Former Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan holds the record for the fastest goal scored by an African player at the FIFA World Cup.
Gyan struck after just 68 seconds against the Czech Republic in Ghana’s second group-stage match at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
The Black Stars won 2-0 before defeating the United States 2-1 in their final group fixture to qualify for the Round of 16, where they lost 3-0 to Brazil.
Gyan is also Africa’s all-time leading scorer at the FIFA World Cup, having netted six goals across three tournaments — 2006, 2010 and 2014.
ISMAEL SAIBARI: First African To Score In All Three Group-Stage Matches At A FIFA World Cup
Morocco’s Atlas Lions forward Ismael Saibari made history at the FIFA World Cup 2026 by becoming the first African player to score in all three group-stage matches.
His landmark run in Group C included a goal in a 1-1 draw against Brazil, the winner in a 1-0 victory over Scotland, and another goal in Morocco’s 4-2 win against Haiti.
