Captain of Nigeria’s women’s cricket team, Favour Eseigbe, has hailed the fighting spirit of the Female Yellow Greens after they bounced back to defeat Brazil and claim the bronze medal at the recently concluded Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament in Rwanda.
Nigeria edged Brazil by two wickets in a tense third-place playoff to finish the tournament on a high after a challenging campaign.

“We were determined to end the tournament with a medal,” Eseigbe said.
The skipper described the bronze medal as a reward for the team’s resilience, insisting every player contributed to the victory.
According to her, the Yellow Greens remained united despite setbacks earlier in the competition and refused to let disappointment define their campaign.
“This was a collective effort. Everyone played their part,” she added.
Eseigbe singled out tournament MVP Christabel Chukwuonye for special praise after her match-winning spell of three wickets helped Nigeria overcome Brazil.
“Christabel was outstanding and made a huge difference for us,” she said.
The captain also reserved special appreciation for Nigerian fans, whose encouragement she believes kept the team motivated throughout the tournament.
“Our fans stayed behind us from start to finish, and we’re grateful for their unwavering support,” Eseigbe stated.
Nigeria’s bronze-medal finish capped another encouraging outing for the Female Yellow Greens as they continue building momentum ahead of future international competitions.
