Trabzonspor of Turkey defender, Chibuike Nwaiwu is bound to miss out on a hefty €20m transfer offer from Fulham of England, as officials at his Turkish Super Lig club are not ready to let him go, Sports247 reports.
Although Nwaiwu would relish the opportunity of joining three Nigerian compatriots – Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze – at Fulham, his club’s top brass have other thoughts, with their officials determined to hold unto the centre back.

As it were, Nwaiwu also plays alongside another Nigerian star (Paul Ebere Onuachu) at Trabzonspor, but the lure of featuring in the English Premier League and earning improved pay in pounds would surely inspire him to take up The Cottagers’ offer.
However, regardless of the lad’s personal ambitions, egg heads at his Trabzon-based outfit are determined to keep Nwaiwu heading into the new season, considering that it was only in January that they signed him from Wolfsberger AC of Austria.
Amazingly, though Trabzonspor paid only €5.5m to get the free-scoring centre-back into their squad, they are ready to snub Fulham’s €20m bid, considering that Nwaiwu has become a firm and integral part of their team, with his form boosting their ambitions.
Having helped The Black Sea Storm lift the Turkish Cup this past season, Nwaiwu is currently rated priceless at Trabzonspor, hence the club’s bold decision to brush aside Fulham’s tempting offer for the 21-year-old vastly improved defender.
A report by Takagazete reveals, “Trabzonspor have no intention of selling the former Enyimba defender this summer. The club would only entertain bids that break their transfer record, underlining their desire to retain one of their standout performers as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.”
