Captain of Nigeria’s women’s cricket team, Favour Eseigbe, has praised the resilience of the Female Yellow Greens despite their seven-wicket defeat to Brazil at the ongoing Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament in Kigali.

Despite ending on the losing side, Eseigbe insisted there were positives to take from the performance, particularly the determination shown by the players throughout the contest.
“We never stopped fighting,” Eseigbe said.
The skipper commended her teammates for their batting effort and the way they responded under pressure against a strong Brazilian side.
According to Eseigbe, Nigeria’s batting unit produced encouraging moments that demonstrated the team’s growing confidence.
“Our batting performance showed a lot of promise,” she added.
However, the captain admitted that a handful of costly mistakes with the ball ultimately swung the game in Brazil’s favour.
She explained that a few loose deliveries allowed the South Americans to seize momentum during the chase.
“We gave away some opportunities that proved costly,” she stated.
Despite the setback, Eseigbe was pleased with the attitude displayed by her players, noting that the team continued battling until the final ball.
The captain expressed confidence that Nigeria can build on the positives from the performance in upcoming matches.
“There are lessons to learn, but there are also many positives to take forward,” she said.
Eseigbe also thanked Nigerian supporters for their continued encouragement throughout the competition.
The Female Yellow Greens remain in action at the tournament as they continue their quest for positive results in Kigali.
