Wikki Tourists have declared six of its players absent without official leave (AWOL) after they allegedly failed to report for training, and other official club activities without authorisation.
In a statement issued by the club’s management and signed by Adamu Idris Pali, the Bauchi-based club said the affected players had remained absent despite efforts to contact them and facilitate their return to camp.
The players listed by the club are Abdullahi Pepe, Chizoba Okoh, Sani Ibrahim, Abubakar Ibrahim Aliyu, Ibrahim Shuaibu and Barhama Mansur.
According to the statement, the club considers the development a serious breach of professional conduct and contractual obligations.

“Despite efforts by the management to establish contact and secure their return to camp, the players have neither resumed duties nor provided satisfactory explanations for their absence,” the statement read.
Wikki Tourists disclosed that it has formally classified the six players as AWOL and has notified the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for its records and any action deemed necessary.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, professionalism and high standards, stressing that players and officials are expected to comply with its regulations as preparations continue for the forthcoming season.
Wikki Tourists also expressed appreciation to the Bauchi State Government, supporters, partners and stakeholders for their continued support, adding that further updates on the matter would be communicated through official channels.
