Nigeria’s Super Eagles were denied victory in dramatic fashion after Poland scored deep into stoppage time to force a 2-2 draw in an international friendly played at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday night.

Eric Chelle’s side twice took the lead during an entertaining contest but failed to hold on as the hosts fought back on both occasions.
Nigeria opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Terem Moffi, who calmly finished a low cross from Moses Simon after a swift attacking move.
Poland responded just before halftime when teenage defender Kacper Potulski rose highest to score from a corner kick, sending both sides into the break level at 1-1.
The Super Eagles regained the advantage in the 76th minute after Paul Onuachu converted from the penalty spot following a handball inside the Polish penalty area.
Nigeria looked set to secure victory until the fourth minute of stoppage time when Przemysław Wiśniewski unleashed a stunning long-range strike that beat goalkeeper Maduka Okoye to rescue a draw for the home side.
The late equaliser sparked debate among supporters over Okoye’s positioning, with some fans criticising the goalkeeper while others argued that the powerful effort gave him little chance.
Despite the disappointing finish, Nigeria showed flashes of attacking quality, particularly through Moses Simon, Moffi and Onuachu, as Chelle continued preparations ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
The result also highlighted concerns about the Super Eagles’ ability to manage games defensively after surrendering the lead twice during the encounter.
