Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, delivered another commanding performance on Saturday, defeating Guinea 6-0 in the second leg of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 qualifying fixture in Ikenne.

The victory sealed an emphatic 11-0 aggregate triumph for the Nigerian girls, who had already established a comfortable advantage in the first leg.
The Flamingos wasted no time asserting their dominance, taking the lead in the ninth minute through Oluwakemi Adegbuyi. The forward finished off a fine cross from Queen Joseph to put Nigeria ahead.
Captain Harmony Chidi doubled the advantage in the 21st minute with a superb strike from outside the penalty area, making it 2-0 on the day and 7-0 on aggregate.
Just two minutes later, Queen Joseph got on the scoresheet herself, extending Nigeria’s lead to 3-0 after another impressive attacking move.
Adegbuyi grabbed her second goal of the match in the 32nd minute, powering home a header to make it 4-0.
The Flamingos were not done yet as Chidi completed her brace two minutes later, finishing off a move created by Adegbuyi to send Nigeria into the break with a commanding 5-0 lead.
Despite their comfortable advantage, the hosts maintained their intensity in the second half.
Substitute Precious Oscar added the sixth goal in the 70th minute, making an instant impact from the bench and capping another dominant display from the Nigerian side.
The Flamingos remained disciplined defensively throughout the contest, denying Guinea any opportunity to stage a comeback while continuing to threaten in attack.
With the 6-0 victory, Nigeria progressed to the next stage of the qualification series with an overwhelming 11-0 aggregate score, underlining their status as one of Africa’s strongest contenders for a place at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The Flamingos’ ruthless attacking display and solid defensive organisation will provide further confidence as they continue their journey towards securing a ticket to the global tournament.
