Super Eagles’ coach, Eric Sekou Chelle has admitted that his side must work harder in training and put up a better performance in order to defeat Jamaica this Saturday in the Unity Cup final at Charlton Athletic FC’s stadium, The Valley.

Sports247 reports that, while acknowledging that his squad of rookies gave a good account of themselves in defeating Zimbabwe 2-0 during the opening match on Tuesday, the Franco-Malian tactician conceded it was not a perfect performance.
Chelle reflected on what he referred to as ‘some mistakes’ that his side committed and, after seeing Jamaica also defeat India 2-0 in the second game on Wednesday, the former Mali and MC Oran of Algeria gaffer admitted he has more work to do.
Jamaica set up a repeat of last year’s final by proving their superiority over India in a game that saw The Reggae Boyz cruise to victory on the back of Courtney Clarke’s eighth minute strike and Kaheim Dixon’s solo effort in the 78th.
Chelle noted that the Unity Cup is an invitational competition, but quickly chipped in that each player still has to give his best, hence his charge that the Eagles’ lads and crew will have to work harder in training ahead of their clash with Jamaica.
“This is only a friendly game. This is not the World Cup qualifier, but we made some mistakes with the ball. They need to work hard. They need to understand what I want, what the technical staff want and the high level is difficult,” Chelle posited.
