The director-general of National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Bukola Olopade says the country’s contingent demonstrated the true Nigerian spirit of excellence and determination by placing second at the African Para-Powerlifting Championship.
Sports247 reports that Olopade was all smiles as he welcomed the team back home, then showered encomiums on the athletes, coaches and officials for putting up yet another sterling performance that brought more pride to the country.

Olopade also praised the team for what he described as their gallant displays of resilience, discipline and patriotism throughout the competition, reiterating that the team’s achievement is another proud moment for Nigerian sports.
He used the occasion to buttress the NSC’s readiness to back all federations of various sport disciplines in the country to achieve great results in their respective outings, which he said is part of the current administration’s developmental policy.
Olopade asserted, “This team once again demonstrated the true Nigerian spirit of excellence and determination. Their performance has continued to inspire millions of Nigerians and further elevate the country’s image globally.
“I commend the athletes, coaches and officials for their commitment and sacrifices. We want to assure our sports federations of the Commission’s continued support, as championed by the Federal Government’s renewed commitment to sports development and our athletes.”
