Former Super Eagles and Moroka Swallows F.C. goalkeeper Greg Etafia has expressed confidence that Stanley Nwabali will soon secure a new club ahead of the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the goalkeeper’s current situation, Etafia described Nwabali as a top-quality shot-stopper despite the recent setback surrounding the termination of his contract with his former club.

“Nwabali is still a very good goalkeeper,” Etafia said.
According to the former Super Eagles goalie, the decision to leave his previous club may have been a mistake, but it should not overshadow his overall quality and achievements.
“He has still done well for himself,” he implied.
Etafia also questioned the decision not to include Nwabali in the national team camp, insisting the goalkeeper currently needs support and encouragement the most.
“This is the moment he needs the team around him,” he noted.
The former international stressed that simply training alongside teammates in the Super Eagles environment could have helped the goalkeeper mentally and professionally.
“Being in camp would have helped him greatly,” he added.
Discussions around Nigeria’s goalkeeping situation have continued growing ahead of the Unity Cup as coach Eric Chelle evaluates available options.
“Competition in goal is becoming a major talking point,” many football observers believe.
Etafia remains optimistic that Nwabali will recover strongly and return to top-level football soon.
“He still has a bright future ahead,” he stressed.
