Former IRGC commander calls US naval blockade ‘act of war’

Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei warned the United States to end its blockade of Iranian ports, saying Tehran’s military remained prepared for further confrontation.

Speaking on Iranian state television, the former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander said: “We advise the US military to end the siege before the Sea of Oman becomes your graveyard.”

Rezaei described the blockade as an “act of war” and said Iran had the right to respond.

“The longer they prolong the naval blockade of Iran, the greater the damage to countries around the world will be,” he said.

Referring to negotiations, Rezaei added: “It is America that must prove itself now. Our armed forces have their finger on the trigger, and, at the same time, diplomacy continues.”
