Nigerian teenage tennis sensation Seun Ogunsakin has officially secured a place in the qualifying rounds of the 2026 Roland-Garros Junior Championships 2026 set to hold in Paris, France.
The Ekiti-born youngster was listed among the players entered for the junior qualifying event following his rise in the global junior tennis rankings, marking another major milestone in his rapidly growing career.

Ogunsakin, 17, is one of the African players expected to compete at the prestigious Grand Slam tournament, with Nigerians now hoping he can progress into the main draw in what will be his maiden appearance at a Grand Slam event.
The junior championships will run from May 31 to June 7, 2026 at the iconic Stade Roland-Garros, alongside the second week of the French Open.
According to the tournament schedule, junior singles qualifying matches begin on May 28, while the main draw starts on May 31.
Ogunsakin’s qualification entry is being viewed as a significant breakthrough for Nigerian tennis, as he continues to establish himself among Africa’s brightest young prospects on the international circuit.
The 2026 edition of the Roland-Garros Juniors is expected to feature many of the world’s top under-18 players competing in boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles events.
