Liverpool could face competition from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in their attempts to sign highly-rated Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, according to reports in France.
The Reds are exploring the market for a new right-sided forward as they prepare for life without Mohamed Salah, who will bring down the curtain on his legendary Anfield career at the end of the season.
Liverpool are looking to inject pace into their side ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, according to The Athletic, who claim the club have run the rule over Yan Diomande, with the RB Leipzig and Ivory Coast winger valued at €98million (£85m).
And French publication L’Equipe reported earlier this week that the 20-time champions are also monitoring Monaco’s Akliouche, whose price tag is believed to be €50m (£43.3m).
However, the same newspaper are now claiming Pep Guardiola’s City and Luis Enrique’s PSG are also interested in Akliouche, who has scored six goals and recorded as many assists in Ligue 1 this season.
L’Equipe understands PSG are weighing up whether to sign Akliouche as a replacement for Lee Kang-In, who they say has been deemed surplus to requirements in the French capital.
While L’Equipe only mention City’s interest fleetingly, Guardiola’s side could be in need of a winger if Tottenham Hotspur reignite their interest in Savinho – a player they came close to signing last summer.
Monaco academy graduate Akliouche is under contract until 2028, though the principality side’s bargaining position could be weakened if the club fail to achieve European football for next season.
Sebastien Pocognoli’s side are hoping to sneak into sixth, and subsequent qualification for next season’s Conference League, by winning at Strasbourg on the final day of the Ligue 1 season this weekend, while also hoping Marseille lose on home soil to Rennes.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are hoping to move one step closer to securing Champions League football for next season when they travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Friday evening.
The Reds were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend, with both the final result and manager Arne Slot’s decision to substitute winger Rio Ngumoha drawing boos from the Anfield faithful.

While Salah has been missing since sustaining a minor muscle injury against Crystal Palace at the end of April, Liverpool are hopeful he will have the chance to say goodbye to supporters in person when the club play host to Brentford on the final day of the season.
The Egypt star has scored 257 goals in 440 appearances for the Merseysiders, with only Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt (285) having scored more times for the 20-time league champions.
