All the latest Man Utd transfer news in one place, including updates on Eli Kroupi, Michael Carrick and Mateus Fernandes.
Bournemouth chief insists Kroupi not for sale
Bournemouth director Tiago Pinto insists that in-demand forward Eli Kroupi is “going nowhere” this summer.
The 19-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s breakout stars this season, scoring 12 goals. His exploits have made him a target for Arsenal and Man Utd, with recent reports claiming that Kroupi is the most likely big name at Bournemouth to secure a high-profile move.
However, speaking to 365scores, Pinto made it clear that the Frenchman is not for sale. “Junior Kroupi will not be leaving the club,” he said. “His contract is for more than four years, there is no release clause in the contract, and he will not be going anywhere.”
Carrick talks begin
Man Utd will hold talks with Michael Carrick over the permanent head coach position before the season ends, according to Sky Sports.
The former midfielder is currently in interim charge of the Red Devils, but results have been so impressive that he is now the favourite to keep the job long-term. Carrick has already qualified Man Utd for the Champions League.
Nevertheless, Man Utd are still keeping all of their options open. While Carrick is in pole position, there is still an outside chance that someone else gets the job if they impress during the interviewing process.
Fernandes’ Man Utd hint?
West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes may have dropped a hint about his desire to play for Man Utd when asked about the era of football he would like to travel back to.
“Cristiano [Ronaldo] in Manchester,” Fernandes replied. “United were unbelievable at that time, and Cristiano was amazing.” The Portugal international is a target for the Red Devils this summer.
Fernandes has been one of the few positives of West Ham’s disappointing season, and he seems destined to leave the club even if they manage to stave off relegation. Man Utd are at the front of the queue for him.
Hjulmand still tracked
Man Utd keep monitoring Sporting CP captain Morten Hjulmand, CaughtOffside claims.
The midfielder was a target for his former manager Ruben Amorim last year, but Sporting refused to sell after already losing Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal. This summer, Hjulmand is expected to be on the move.
Sporting will not stand in his way and are willing to listen to offers in the region of €60 million. Arsenal and Man Utd have been in touch with his camp to stay informed on his situation.
Barca still undecided over Rashford
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick says that the club will make a final decision on Man Utd loanee Marcus Rashford after the season.
Reports have proliferated that the LaLiga champions will not exercise their €30m purchase option and that they are trying to strike a different deal to keep the England winger.
Man Utd, however, insist that the clause must be triggered. This stalemate has led to suggestions that Rashford could be forced to return to Old Trafford, despite expressing a clear desire to remain in Catalunya.
Anderson alternatives explored
Man Utd are bracing themselves for Elliot Anderson joining a different club this summer, as per Sky Sports.
The Red Devils are desperate to sign the Nottingham Forest ace, but it is believed that Anderson favours a move to rivals Man City. There are also concerns over his hefty price tag.
As a result, Man Utd are stepping up their pursuit of other targets, such as Ederson and Mateus Fernandes, while numerous other names remain on their shortlist.
