Cross River Ikan cornerback Imole Olorun Femi has admitted the team is still learning and growing despite another difficult chapter in their Showtime Bowl Series XIV campaign, but insists belief inside the squad remains unshaken as the playoff race intensifies.
The Cross River Ikan have endured a season filled with highs and painful setbacks, including heavy defeats against the Delta Braves and the Lagos Greenbacks, results that have complicated their postseason ambitions.

But speaking after the team’s recent struggles, Imole made it clear that the players understand the process they are going through.
“We know we are still learning. We know we are not fully where we want to be yet,” she admitted.
“But every game is teaching us something. Every difficult moment is helping us grow stronger as a team.”
Known for her aggressive defending, energy, and determination in the secondary, Imole has become one of the emotional voices inside the Ikan camp during a season where consistency has often been difficult to find.
While critics continue to question whether Ikan can survive the intense wildcard race, the defensive star believes the team’s resilience could still become their biggest strength.
“People see the losses, but inside this team we see progress. We are building chemistry, confidence, and understanding. Sometimes growth is painful before success comes.”
Cross River Ikan currently remain in the thick of the wildcard playoff conversation as Showtime Flag Football approaches the dramatic end of the regular season.
For Imole and her teammates, the mission now is simple — fight until the very end.
“We are not giving up. We still believe in ourselves, and we still believe we can surprise people.”
