Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team, the Falconets, are brimming with confidence ahead of their crucial final-round qualifier for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, with head coach Moses Aduku insisting his side is tactically prepared to overcome Malawi’s threat.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference in Ikenne, Aduku acknowledged the qualities of the Malawian side but stressed that Nigeria has done its homework.

“We respect Malawi, but we understand their strengths and we have worked hard to neutralise them,” Aduku said.
“The girls are mentally and physically ready. We’ve focused on our tactics, our cohesion, and ensuring we control the game from the first whistle.”
The Falconets head into the first-leg clash at the Remo Stars Stadium as favourites, but Aduku was quick to dismiss any notion of complacency.
“At this stage, there are no easy teams. Every opponent deserves respect. We are not underestimating them, but we are confident in our ability to deliver at home.”
Team captain Joy Igbokwe echoed her coach’s sentiments, calling for strong home support while reaffirming the squad’s determination.
“We are fully focused and ready for this match. This is a big moment for us and for Nigeria,” she said.
“We want to make the country proud, and we need the support of our fans to push us through.”
