Young Tigers Football Academy of Lanre Community will this Sunday tango with the hosts’ team in the under-13 final of God Did Foundation Holiday Football Competition at Anglican Primary School, Akesan, Lagos.
Sports247 reports that the boys of Coach Taiwo Abiodun (aka Santos) booked a ticket to face God Did Football Academy in Sunday’s final after a stunning 2-1 victory over Super Accurate Football Academy of Ikotun in Thursday’s second semi-final at the same venue.
That result prevented Super Accurate from reaching finals in both under-10 and under-13 categories of the second term holiday competition being sponsored by God Did Foundation, who had eyes on both finals.
However, only one of the hosts’ squads made it through the last-four stage and they will now face Young Tigers in the under-13 final this Sunday after defeating Blessed Star Football Academy 2-1 in the first semi-final.
On the other hand, Coach Adewale Oseni’s Super Accurate qualified for the under-10 final with a 4-2 victory via penalties against Adebayo Samba FA, following a goalless end to regulatuin time in their highly exciting semi-finals fixture on Thursday.
However, God Did Foundation failed to make it a double ticket to Sunday’s finals as their under-10 squad surprisingly lost 3-0 to United Tao Football Academy, in a match that many observers described as the biggest upset so far in the competition.
It promises to be another exciting time on Sunday, as both finals will come up back-to-back on the hard surface of Anglican Primary School’s playground, less than 24 hours before students across Lagos State return to their classrooms after two weeks of the second term holiday.
