Euromatch NPFL: Sporting Lagos Striker Hadi Laments Missed Chances After Derby Stalemate

Following their goalless draw in the Lagos Derby against Ikorodu City, Sporting Lagos striker Haruna Hadi has expressed frustration over his side’s inability to convert their chances.

Despite the mounting frustrations on and off the pitch, Hadi emphasized that the squad remains fully focused on resolving their goalscoring struggles and keeping their morale high.

“Regardless of it, we are trying to push and do our best to get goals. We are working on it, and I’m sure we are going to come out on top,” he added.

When asked about Sporting Lagos’ long-term targets for the campaign, the forward noted that it remains too early to set a definitive objective, though he firmly dismissed any fears of relegation.

Instead, Hadi outlined loftier ambitions for the second half of the season:

“It’s too early to say, but I think we are not relegating this season. We are keeping our heads up and staying in the lead. After the first round, we will set the goal for ourselves to see where we can push for a continental or Champions League finish.”
