Despite their impressive position, Alinta admitted that Team Jendol Superstores endured a difficult beginning to the competition.
“As I mentioned in previous interviews, we did not start the competition as we had expected,” he explained.
“However, after winning our second game, we began to build momentum. Our attacking players started delivering the goals, and we are now seeing the results of that improvement.”
The turnaround has propelled Team Jendol to the top of the standings with eight points, two ahead of their nearest challengers.
Alinta also praised his players’ tactical discipline following their hard-fought victory over Team Remed Healthcare, who entered the encounter as league leaders.
He acknowledged the quality of the opposition but insisted his team approached the fixture with a clear defensive strategy.
“Team Remed have an array of talented players, some of the best in the competition,” he said.
“Our priority was to ensure that we did not concede, and I believe we executed that plan effectively.”
The disciplined performance ultimately paid off as Team Jendol’s star player scored the decisive goal.
“Daily Manna Won’t Be Lucky Again”
Looking ahead to their Matchweek 7 clash against Daily Manna FC, Alinta issued a confident warning following their previous 1-1 encounter.
“We have played against Daily Manna FC before, and they were fortunate to secure a 1-1 draw against us. However, I do not think they will be as fortunate this time around.”
The coach stressed that his players must remain focused despite occupying first position.
“We must win our next game and continue building on our progress. Hopefully, if we maintain this momentum, we can go on to clinch the trophy.”
With Team Jendol Superstores gathering momentum, Alinta believes consistency, defensive discipline and attacking efficiency could prove decisive in their pursuit of league glory.
