Obaji delivered an encouraging performance in attack, bringing energy and determination to the Wellborn Hotels frontline following his absence from the team’s previous three matches.
Speaking in an interview with Sports247 after the encounter, Obaji described the match as one that demanded commitment and determination.
The striker explained that business and personal responsibilities had prevented him from featuring in the team’s earlier fixtures, during which Wellborn Hotels recorded two defeats and one victory.
“This was my first appearance for the team, having missed the previous three matches. My business and other personal commitments had prevented me from participating in the competition until today,” he explained.
However, he insisted that he was determined to make himself available for the important fixture and contribute to the team’s performance.
Although pleased to have returned to action, Obaji admitted that he had hoped to celebrate his comeback with a victory rather than a goalless draw.He believes his performance reflected his determination to help the team, but acknowledged that the result was not what he had targeted.
“I was determined to be present for this match and make my contribution to the team. I believe today’s performance reflected that determination, although it is unfortunate that the game ended in a draw,” he said.
“Personally, I was aiming for a victory rather than a draw.”
Despite the dropped points, the forward remains optimistic about Wellborn Hotels’ prospects in the competition. He expressed confidence that the team can learn from the encounter, improve its performance and secure a positive result in its next fixture.
“I am confident that we will come back stronger and secure a win in our next match,” Obaji added.
His return provides another attacking option for Wellborn Hotels as they seek greater consistency in the PatrickLingo Super League.
For Obaji Chukwudi Emmanuel, the goalless draw may not have delivered the perfect comeback, but his determination to contribute signals his readiness to play a bigger role in Wellborn Hotels’ campaign.
