Akwa United Begin Ten-Day Closed Camping in Eket

Akwa United have begun a ten-day closed camping exercise in Eket as they prepare for the 2026/2027 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

The camping exercise started on Monday, October 19, 2026, and will give Head Coach Paul Offor and his technical crew time to work with the players, improve the team’s tactics and build fitness ahead of the new season.

The Promise Keepers are targeting promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after missing out on promotion by one point last season.

Speaking before the team’s departure for Eket, club chairman Joseph Eno described the closed camping exercise as “absolutely crucial” to the team’s preparations.

He stressed the importance of discipline and urged the players and officials to take the exercise seriously and give their best throughout the period.

Eno also called on the team to remain committed both on and off the pitch, stressing that everyone must work together to achieve the club’s promotion target.

He urged the players to be fully prepared for the new season and ready to compete from the first whistle of their opening league match.

Akwa United will begin their 2026/2027 NNL campaign against Ekiti United on November 8, 2026, at the Uyo Township Stadium.
