Rangers International striker Godwin Obaje has joined an exclusive group of Nigerian footballers to reach the 100-goal milestone in the Nigeria Premier Football League, following his decisive strike against Warri Wolves.
Sports247 reports that Rangers International striker Godwin Obaje has joined an exclusive group of Nigerian footballers to reach the 100-goal milestone reached the landmark from the penalty spot as Rangers International secured a 1–0 victory over Warri Wolves, marking his 100th career goal in the NPFL and adding another significant chapter to his distinguished domestic career.
The achievement places Obaje alongside former NPFL greats Victor Ezeji and Rabiu Ali, two of the most prolific goalscorers in the history of Nigeria’s top-flight football.
Ezeji finished his NPFL career with 148 goals, establishing himself as one of the league’s most celebrated marksmen. Rabiu Ali, popularly known Pele for Mai Su Gida, has also built a remarkable scoring record, currently standing at 144 NPFL goals, while the Kano Pillars captain remains active and continues to add to his tally.
Obaje’s journey to 100 goals has been built across several NPFL clubs, demonstrating remarkable consistency throughout his career.
The forward first made a major impact with Wikki Tourists, where he won the 2016 NPFL Golden Boot after scoring 18 goals during the campaign.
He subsequently represented FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Plateau United and Abia Warriors, before joining Rangers International, where he has continued to demonstrate his goalscoring qualities.
His 100th NPFL goal arrived at an important moment for Rangers, with the penalty against Warri Wolves proving enough to secure maximum points for the Flying Antelopes.
Beyond the significance of the individual milestone, Obaje’s achievement reflects the longevity and consistency required to reach such a figure in the NPFL, where strikers face the challenge of maintaining their scoring form across multiple seasons and clubs.
Joining Ezeji and Rabiu Ali in the 100-goal club further strengthens Obaje’s place among the notable goalscorers of the modern NPFL era.
At 100 goals, however, the Rangers forward still has an opportunity to climb higher on the all-time scoring chart, with the records of Ezeji and Rabiu Ali providing clear landmarks ahead.
For now, Obaje can celebrate a milestone that only a select group of Nigerian top-flight forwards have achieved.
Godwin Obaje has reached 100 NPFL goals — and his name now stands alongside Ezeji and Rabiu Ali among the league’s historic goalscorers.
