Arthur Okonkwo has set his sights on winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Completesports.com reports.
Okonkwo made his debut for the three-time African champions against Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Unity Cup in May.
The Coventry City goalkeeper was also part of the Super Eagles squad for the international friendlies against Poland and Portugal in June.
The 24-year-old could make his first competitive appearance for Nigeria when the Super Eagles face Madagascar’s Barea in a 2027 AFCON qualifier on Friday.

Okonkwo Targets AFCON Success
Looking beyond the upcoming fixture, Okonkwo has revealed his ambition to become an African champion with Nigeria and represent the country at the FIFA World Cup.
“I want to win the AFCON and compete at the World Cup. That’s one of my biggest ambitions as a footballer,” Okonkwo said during his interaction with the media in Uyo on Wednesday.
Making Positive Impact With Super Eagles
The former Arsenal academy goalkeeper also expressed his determination to make a positive impact with the Super Eagles while continuing to learn from his more experienced teammates.
“At the moment, it’s still early. I want to learn from everyone and learn new things. The previous camp was good for me,” he added.
“I want to take things in my stride, keep learning, keep improving, and hopefully one day contribute positively to the Super Eagles.”
