Falconets captain Christiana Uzoma and forward Ramotalahi Kareem are confident of overcoming England, in Thursday’s FIFA U-20 women’s World Cup round of 16 clash.
The Falconets finished with four points and placed second in Group F to advance to the knockout round.
After picking just one point in their opening two group fixtures (2-0 defeat to Spain, 0-0 draw with China) the Falconets hammered debutants New Caledonia 10-1, to guarantee their qualification.
Kareem was among the scorers, as she bagged a hat-trick in the dominant win.
England also placed second with four points from Group B to progress into the round of 16.

Now, the Falconets and England will battle for the quarterfinal ticket.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Uzoma told the Falconets media team:”The mood in camp is very good, it’s a winning mentality.
“We are not scared of England, we are fully prepared for them and Nigerians should expect victory.”
On putting on the green and white colour of Nigeria, Uzoma added:”Wearing the Nigerian jersey means a lot to me, it’s a very good opportunity because I’ve been praying for it and I got it so I have to show that I merit it.”
Commenting on the game, Kareem called on Nigerians to support them.
”Please come and support us, pray for us and we are promising you that we won’t disappoint, we will win.”
